Maine Season Events : Meagan Gilpatrick

I’ve had the recent pleasure of connecting with Meagan Gilpatrick of Maine Seasons Events. Meagan is very savvy, uber creative, talented, stylish, sweet woman and I’m so thankful that the wedding industry has brought her onto my radar. She’s one of the most thoughtful people I’ve met in Maine! Check out some pictures from her visit to the studio.

Maine Seasons Events is a wedding design & planning company specializing in Maine weddings, owned by Meagan Gilpatrick, a Maine native who believes each client’s special event should be unique, creative and fun.

Here is a bit of Meagan’s story:

“I have been designing and coordinating weddings for 10 years, and officially launched Maine Seasons Events in January of 2006. Nine years ago when I was planning my own wedding, I encountered many obstacles that took some of the fun out of the process. It occurred to me that I would love to use my creativity & background in management, customer service, design, and hospitality to help others create visionary weddings within their budgets. I planned weddings for several friends, and word spread. After a few years of planning events on the side, I left the corporate world to focus full time on the one profession that never felt like a job to me.

Of course, there are budgets, music, food selections, contracts and timelines to consider, but at the core of what I do, the journey of how we come to be married is important to me. This journey is unfortunately often overlooked, or hurried through during the wedding planning process. I like to think of myself as a professional tour guide, showing my clients the way to the celebration of joining their lives together, ensuring they really experience and are present for this important part of the journey.

I am often asked, “What is your favorite part of the wedding process?” My favorite part of the planning process is when the vision for the event design is solidified-when the colors, the dishes, the tables, flowers, location and other design and decor elements have been selected. For me, being able to show my client what their event will look and feel like, is when the event comes alive and when everyone gets excited about the tasks ahead to make the vision reality.

Another common question is: “What should I look for in hiring a wedding planner?”
I believe that clients should choose a wedding planner whom they feel comfortable with, whose personal style reflects their own and whose experience encompasses the type of event the client is planning. Maine Seasons Events’ wedding planning services are designed to be customized to the needs of each unique client. For one client, the service that best suits their needs could be full event planning, and for another client, hourly consultation and day of event coordination services. Offering the flexibility to choose different levels of customized service has been an important feature for our clients. After designing, coordinating and executing over 100 weddings, one of the things I hear the most from my clients, is that we brought style, order and calm to what would have otherwise been a stressful day. Our attention to detail, caring about our clients, and a true understanding of the importance of a wedding, diligence and consistent professionalism are some of the fundamental elements of our client’s experience when working with Maine Seasons Events.

Personally, my life is filled with a scrumptious and curious 2 year old daughter, my (junior) high school sweetheart husband, a century old house, 3 cats and the constant hum of creative activity. Some of the things you might see happening on any given day at our house? Knitting, baking, gardening, sewing, reading to our daughter, restoring a vintage camper, painting, redecorating, bird watching, building, welding, renovating, cooking, entertaining and maybe a little sleeping. “

PROOF of how sweet and amazing she is . . . she created an arrangement for me for a vendor showcase that just blew me away. Read her story about all the details of her experience.  I’ve never had anything so beautiful created for me. I almost cried! She brought the arrangement by the studio in the evening and her visit with her daughter, Ava was the PERFECT ending to my day.

Such an amazing creation! She took my branding into consideration and put so much of herself into it! JUST BLOWN AWAY!

I couldn’t stop looking at it! After the vendor showcase, I actually brought it home and put in my bedroom instead of at the studio. I’d walk past it and smile so I can ONLY imagine how amazing it would be to have Meagan create, coordinate and be your event planner for one of the most important events of your life.
