I’m excited to share a unique wedding idea with you that I became aware of at a recent wedding at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The bride and groom, Ria and Ross worked with El’s Cards who created the most personal and NEAT seating chart I’ve ever seen.
Ellen Greely Braley has been doing calligraphy and watercolor for over 25 years and loves it! “Working with Ria and Ross was fabulous! They are hiking enthusiasts so initially the invitation had a map of the state of Maine with water and mountains in the background. This theme carried through to the seating scroll…with their favorite and meaningful places featured as table names. The tables were adorned with signs in calligraphy with clam shells and mussel shells. The individual place cards on the tables had food choices indicated by different paintings. Ellen got in touch with me and we met up for coffee in Portland. Her portfolio is impressive and I really enjoyed getting to know her. Soon after our coffee date, I received a box with a lovely thank you note and cards that she made for me. She took note that I had mentioned that I loved her M’s so she created cards with my name. Receiving the cards showed me how thoughtful she is and how she’ll really listen to you and go above and beyond. I highly recommend contacting her for any uncoming special event.
