There’s simply too much to say about this wonderful wedding…
Rachel and Justin are a new brand of couple. They met on myspace! Seven years later, Justin proposed to Rachel on a luxurious cruise to Bermuda surrounded by their family. Because of their close connection to family, they decided that they wanted a very personal, family oriented wedding. That’s exactly what they created.
Before their wedding at the Inn at Newfound Lake, Rachel and Justin hosted a Friday night barbecue at Timberloch Lodge. The barbecue took place right on Newfound Lake; it was a beautiful location. The guests played games, relaxed on the shore, and had fun in the sand.
The day of the wedding, the groomsmen got ready at the Timberloch Lodge, while the girls got ready at the Inn on Newfound Lake. Both the cottages at Timberloch and the Inn on Newfound Lake have been around since the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, so they are full of history!
For their first glance, Justin drove over to the Inn in his new Jeep, which they wanted to include in their photos. Their family joined them for group shots before the ceremony to give the couple some free time before the reception. The maid of honor is none other than Elisabeth Millay, a Hallmark Institute alum and amazing photographer. She referred her sister to me!
The ceremony was led by Justin’s brother, the best man, and I loved how the bride was walked down the aisle by both her parents. I also appreciated the open seating arrangements. They told everyone “Choose a seat, not a side. We’re all family once the knot is tied!” The lush, green backdrop at the ceremony was absolutely stunning, and the weather couldn’t have been {hotter} better.
The reception took place at the Barn of the Inn. The couple, their friends, and their family all worked together to create the decorations, the favors, and the music. It was so personal, and I could see all the hard work they put into everything.
They had a fun photo booth run by one of my former Hallmark students, Kelly Anne Backus. She is so wonderful, and did an awesome job with the photo booth. The bride and her sister performed a choreographed dance for the guests that was beyond adorable, and I was able to capture some great moments during the party, including the two grandfathers having a chat.
Kelly Anne grabbed this shot below which I love!
What I love about photographing weddings is that I get to capture those little moments, which show the special connections between people. Those are the moments I love the best.
