The lovely story of how I was brought to Sunday River for a family portrait . . .
One day a couple of years ago, I gathered with some fabulous ladies brought into my life thanks to Twitter in what we were calling a “book club”. We read books but most importantly, we got together and talked about life. Our meeting place was Dobra Tea when it was still over on Middle Street in Portland, Maine. It’s without a doubt, the best place in the world for chai tea and being cozied up with friends. One of the ladies, in this group is this fabulous woman, Carolyn who happens to also be in the wedding industry – she runs the show as the catering sales manager at Spruce Point Inn. So, there was books, tea and great connection with all of us.
One lucky day, Carolyn requested to book a family session with me. I met her family at Sunday River Bridge, also known as the Artist’s Covered Bridge in Bethel, Maine. What an amazing location for pictures. It was super freezing but we managed by laughing the whole way through. This session captured their families celebration of firsts. Carolyn’s sister and brother in law were new parents to a baby boy named Tanner. A first time auntie and grandparents were created too! I was very happy to have created these memories for this family and most importantly for Tanner to see how loved and adored he is when he’s all grown up.
As I was leaving them, Carolyn and her Mom hand me this bag FILLED with delicious snacks and DINNER to heat when I got home. I don’t know how I’ve gotten so lucky to have such special and amazing people in my life but I’ll take it!!
Laroche Family, thank you so very much for choosing me to photograph your growing family and for being so incredibly fun and sweet to me!!
xoxo . . .
Ahhhh- I have tears in my eyes- look at how little Mr. Tanner was! I can’t wait for photos with you and the family when Barbara arrives!
Beautiful ❤
