“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together . . . there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart . . . I’ll always be with you.”
-A.A. Milne, author of “Winnie the Pooh”
3rd reading during their ceremony, read by everyone.
From the bride : “We are not following any specific traditions, but are having a pretty typical ceremony. The outline is pretty much: welcome, reading 1, “I do”, Reading 2, vows, reading 3, finished. That’s simplistic, and we are still working out the details. Perhaps two things that are maybe a little different are that we are planning on exchanging letters that we will open on our 25th wedding anniversary. And then our third reading is going to be a reading that the audience says (they don’t know that). I’ve also asked that our mothers try and collect some photographs of previous weddings (parents, Andrew’s sister, grandparents, great-grandparents). If all goes well, those photos will be hanging around us with the light bulbs during the ceremony.”
And all went well . . .
Gillian and Andrew were married at 5pm in the Portland Company Building 6. Their ceremony location then turned into their cocktail hour. Guests were led outside and took a train ride by the Narrow Gauge from the ceremony to the reception at the Ocean Gateway. Talk about a lovely, romantic, fabulous wedding . . .
