The style of this wedding was perfect for its Maine location…
The night before the wedding, Katie, Aaron, and I went to Cape Elizabeth and took some beautiful shots at the Two Lights Lighthouse. It’s a special place for their family, and holds a lot of history.
The two lights were installed in the 1820’s so that ships would not confuse the lighthouse with lights from Portland Head or Wood Island, since the shore is known for being especially treacherous.
The bride and groom got ready at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth.
Both the groom and the groomsmen were especially creative with their attire. Instead of a traditional tuxedo, they opted for more relaxed, casual suits that complemented their Maine Coast wedding.
The bride’s dress also fit their theme perfectly, with the fabric creating waves around her feet.
The ceremony was held at outside at the Inn, where Katie and Aaron stood underneath a decorated yet simple wooden arch to say their vows.
After the ceremony, I took some breathtaking shots of the couple in the gardens and on the beach.
The sky was a perfect blue and the flowers were in bloom. I couldn’t have asked for better weather.
The decór for their reception matched their Maine coast theme as well. Their white backgrounds were accented beautifully with seafoam green, blue, and silver.
It was classically elegant, yet relaxed and beachy, and the bride worked on it all herself.
During the event, I captured a wonderful moment between Aaron and his brother, who was a total riot throughout the entire day.
With so much stress around creating the perfect day, it’s important to surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Katie and Aaron did just that!
