Ria and Ross were married and celebrated with friends and family on a gorgeous spring day at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I travel a lot for weddings so Cape Elizabeth weddings are such spoilers to me because they are just a few miles from home.
Ria sent this message to me Tuesday after her wedding at the Inn by the Sea: “You are the best! Everyone at the wedding just absolutely adored you. You know exactly what to do, when to do it and how to make it to that everyone doesn’t feel super awkward during a photo shoot. Ross’ uncle is a professional photographer in Arizona and he thought you did an amazing job! You even knew how to have my dog Willow look at you while taking pictures – which is something I’ve never been able to do. You managed to make me and my parents feel so at ease during the whole process, which is not easy to do. I felt so beautiful during the whole photo shoot and I had such a wonderful day. Thank you so much for everything!”
Ria and Ross both got ready at the Inn by the Sea.

They chose to have a first glance which allowed me to photograph all the formals and groupings prior to the ceremony. Ria and Ross were then able to join their cocktail hour. You say, “I DO!” and you’re able to celebrate and spend more time with the people who traveled to be with you on your special day.
Ross’s brother, Curtis married them.
Their details were gorgeous! This wedding is how I met artist, Ellen Greely Braley of El’s Cards. El created a suite of customized pieces for Ria and Ross’s wedding day. I had never seen such a unique way for guests to be welcomed into the dinner. I fell in love with El’s work right there! I’ve personally hired her for holiday greeting card creation, personalized map for my parents and various other gifts. I’m totally hooked to her work!!
I love when the bride and groom come into their reception and go right into their first dance. I think the dance resets the tone of the day and brings everyone back to why they are there. The dancing had many joyful, memorable moments. Ria danced with her Mom which was very emotional and incredibly sweet. She also danced with her father in law and told him how happy she is to be joining his family. I feel really lucky to have witnessed these special moments.
