Who knew wedding day rain could be so beautiful?
I photographed Ericka and Nicholas’s wedding on a misty, fall day down in York Harbor, Maine. I previously blogged about Ericka and Nicholas’s engagement session, which you can check out here. The evening that I took their engagement pictures was simply perfect. There was a light wind on the water, a stunning sunset, and a picturesque boat sailing out behind them. And even though there was a misty rain that descended on the couple’s big day, it seemed perfectly planned as well.
The bride got ready with her party at the Mayfair House in York Harbor, ME. While my second photographer, Dani Potter, captured the groom as he prepared down the street at another rental home.
We stayed at the Mayfair House for their first glance, family portraits, and wedding party photos, partly because of the persistent rain. However, the weather provided a glistening backdrop and dramatic lighting that made for memorable photographs.
The ceremony was held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in York Harbor. It was a beautiful stone church with vaulted ceilings and stunning stained glass windows.
The reception was held at the York Harbor Reading Room. The venue had an absolutely breathtaking view of Maine’s coastline and a dance room that glowed.
At the reception, they had a table full of sweet treats and cute flamingo cake topper arranged in the shape of a heart.
