Caroline and Mike were married in June of 2010. Their wedding day was timeless and beautiful. Caroline came to the studio in Maine for a Bridal Session with styling by Colleen Griffin.
Having a bridal photography session allows a bride to discover what it feels like to have her dress on for more than just trying it on at the boutique. This is a wonderful way to become even more comfortable in front of the camera and to learn if your dress needs any further adjustments. Wedding days go by very quickly so to take the time to have portraits taken in your dress is highly recommended, not to mention FUN! Plus, who doesn’t want to wear their wedding dress and it’s a the perfect way to use your hair and makeup run through wisely.

Working with Caroline for her bridal session with Melissa was so rewarding and fun. As soon as I saw her, her hair, and her dress I knew she needed an intricate, art piece for an up do. I love working with brides who allow a free range of creativity. I feel I’m able to produce my best work this way. My belief when it comes (especially) to bridal hair is that your hair should reflect you yet still look timeless. There is nothing worse than looking at your wedding pictures and asking yourself “what was I thinking?” or “who is that person?”.
For Caroline, her luscious blonde locks deserved to be shown off in a classy and memorable way. Because of the cut of her wedding dress I wanted to make sure to show off Caroline’s beautiful bone structure. I decided on a formal style that took it completely off of her neck. Right now, I am loving lower placed slightly off center chignons. It gives a classy, modern yet timeless look. I added detailed elements to dress up the style, making it uniquely her. In the front, a swooping side bang is my favorite to portray sexiness with a twist of sophistication.
