Shannon and Pedro chose one of my favorite places to photograph weddings, the Winslow House in Orleans, Massachusetts to get married.
The Spanish style Winslow House sits on a property that overlooks Pleasant Bay in Cape Cod.
Shannon and Pedro and I had never met prior to their wedding day. I spent the evening before with them and their friends and family at the Winslow House. We had some time to get to know one another and take some casual photographs on the property. Not that I don’t see people in love all the time with the work that I do but sometimes I’m struck by a couple and it’s really hard to put into word what I mean …. their happiness, their love for each other is so obvious. Pedro adores Shannon and that makes her so alive. There is no way you can’t feel the strength of their love when you’re around them. These two have it, that thing we all want.

It poured during the getting ready on their wedding day. Like giant flooded areas poured but the rain stopped just in time for their first glance which was SUPER emotional and the sun came out for their ceremony. Shannon’s Grandma and Pedro’s father married them and they exchanged eagle feathers during the ceremony in representation of Shannon’s Native American heritage.
