I volunteered dog photography at AWS {the Animal Welfare Society} in Kennebunk, Maine to help the adoption process with my good friend, Nicki Fenderson this week. We hadn’t made a trip there through the winter so the minute it was nice enough out, we headed to meet the dogs. All boys this week. It was so good to be back and although at times, it’s heartbreaking, there are so many wonderful people involved in helping these animals, it’s hard not to be filled with love. Time spent at the shelter, is time well spent.
Readers, it would mean so much to me if you would please share this post on your Facebook pages or Twitter feeds or email or anywhere to help these wonderful dogs find their forever homes. Thank you so much!
Meet Mason!
“Mason is a 1-and-a-half year old hound mix. He is a fun boy who is always looking to have a good time.”
And really wanted to get to know me better.
Meet Gilligan!
“Gilligan, a 2-and-a-half year old pit bull mix is an energetic and fun loving boy who enjoys being active.”
For the love of God, meet TANK!
“Underneath all those fold and wrinkles and stocky exterior beats the heart of a sweetheart.”
Meet Jackson!
You simply have to meet this dog. He is really a beauty!
It’s not always just about individual pet portraits. There are a lot of outtakes that don’t make the AWS site.
For instance, there is nothing like the . . .”I’m highly enjoying a butt scratch” face.
Getting to know each other.
Getting to know their body shapes and what their best angles are.
Loving employees of the shelter.
AND CATS! Holy moly, the cats! They have pimped out rooms with window light, obstacle courses and many levels of relaxation going on.
