You can always rest assure that when it’s quiet on my photography journal that I’m busy shooting, traveling and/or brewing some new idea. This quiet time was specifically due to brewing. I finished my office space which is just lovely and decided to explore the option of renting the entire 2nd floor of the building that I’m in. I love the space, the people that surround me and what everyone represents. I’m very proud to be apart of this community here on Spring Street and really excited for what the future holds.
Although, I’m not much of a in studio photographer, there’s this new thing I’m dealing with called weather. In San Diego and in California in general, there is only one season and it’s the sunny season. So, I’ve decided that it’s important for me to have a cozy space for clients to come to. My requirements were to find something groovy that feels like home with a ton of natural light. Well, add in a wall of exposed brick and I’ve found just that. I’m now in the process of taking a very raw space and turning it into my studio.
Naturally, I’m a fixer upper and I’m one of those . . . can’t show you until it’s all done yet on my way to the office this morning, I decided that it’s also important to tell the story. So, with your imagination in place, please take a look at the bones of what will be . . . Spring Street Studio.
The wall that sealed the deal.
The idea is to have the left side be a little meeting area and the rest will be kept open and simple for shooting space.
The future dressing room.
Very much under construction : the walls need to be finished, the fireplaces need refacing, the green walls HAVE GOT TO GO, etc. yet it will be conquered! I’m beyond amazed at this opportunity and excited to share this sneak peak with you!! A past client of mine, who has since become a dear friend to me, said today, that she feels the discovery of the brick wall in the space is somewhat like watching me and my career unfold, over time the more and more I show or expose the better it is.
Yay, for finding what I imagined!!
Oh, my goodness. I want to move to Maine!! That studio is a dream!
