January has left us.
Left us here in New England with many inches of snow and below zero temperatures. Although, I wore more layers than ever, it was a really exciting, relaxing, productive 31 days. I have found that days, weeks, months and now years are flying by. To capture all of the highlights, I’m going to attempt to feature a recap for each month. Attempt is a really lovely way of saying, “When the wedding season hits, I can’t promise too many blog posts but right now, this feels good.” I am excited about sharing news and things I’ve come across that may help you plan your day or have fun learning about.
Before the month started, I headed down to the East End beach in Portland, Maine where the Natural Resources Council of Maine was having their annual Polar Plunge that raises money for global warming. My friend, Elisa Doucette was one of the many brave souls who ventured into the ocean. It was a crack up and I’m so glad I was of witness.
We welcomed a new little man to our circle of friends in the North Woods on January 10th. His name is Rory Nickolas and he came into the world after 26 hours of labor weighing in at 8 lbs and 21 inches. I got together with the proud parents the last day of January to experience their growing family and of course fell in love with this little nugget of joy.
Real Maine Weddings Blog featured Mark and Lauren’s wedding which took place on Monhegan Island, Maine.
The Wedding Website has been updated – come on over to view the updated photo gallery and new option called, featured weddings. Right now, we’re featuring weddings from Maine, Utah and Massachusetts. I also launched a new portrait website. Come on over to view adorable babies, their families and gorgeous professional portraits of dynamic, amazing women.
On the blog : I launched a new service for our clients: Multimedia for family portraiture by featuring the Jepson Family and Multimedia for your business by featuring SheChanges of Portland, Maine.
Throughout January and February, I will be featuring photo sessions that were in collaboration with Colleen Griffin, the fabulous stylist and owner of Aphrodite Salon in Portland, Maine. First up, I shared a bridal session with one of our gorgeous brides, Caroline.
What I’ve found : PINK rings!!!
For the month of February over on Elisa’s blog, Ophelia’s Webb she has a series called Pas de Deux which is a follow-up from last years very successful All You Need series. Today is the first day for the new series and I’m already hooked. The title of the guest post by Noël Rozny is called, “Finding It” – being a deep down hopeless romantic, I’m IN LOVE with this. Elisa is the one who has inspired me to do recaps! Thank you, you inspirational being!
The Portland Winter Farmers Market opened in the West End and will be there every Saturday until April 23. This makes me so very happy. Speaking of food, Portland, Maine was rated a top foodie city! It’s so true. This city has so many amazing places and it was lovely to see Emilitsa receive a mention.
Nine Stones Spa in Portland had a recent remodel and is my choice for facials. I see the fabulous Vanessa Corcoran and had a really long, really relaxing facial this month. My skin has WIGGED out ever since I moved to Maine and without them I’d scare little children. I highly recommend viewing their menu of services and treating yourself.
My Mom came for a visit for a few days and one night we made the most enormous batch of delicious cookies EVER. A client gave me this recipe for Neiman Marcus Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe years ago and I’m telling you . . . . best darn cookies.
One of my favorite TV shows is back. Being Erica {make fun of me, I don’t care} is now viewable again on Hulu.com. I adore this show as it’s a great look at regret and going back in time to “fix” things yet it’s always a great lesson of why everything happens for a reason. Do you remember those books, ‘Choose Your Own Adventure‘? Life is much like this to me and this show is a fun, well dressed way to think about your past. 🙂
A lovely song I discovered this month is Heart To Tell by The Love Language.
Confession : my Dad watches The Bachelor.
xoxo . . .
Aw, I love it! And I love those pink rings! Me-thinks me knows what my next wishlist item will be. 🙂
“Thank you, you inspirational being!” – If every person who read my blog wrote this, I would die a happy and fulfilled writer.
This is awesome! Looking forward to more blog posts!
