I’m having one of those . . . somebody, pinch me, weeks . . . I’m still catching up from my trip to Pennsylvania and New Jersey and having had the chance to sit down today to edit a session I had with a new client, I became totally overwhelmed and felt the need to stand up and do a little dance. I’m so so so so happy with the direction my life is going and I truly believe that whatever it is you want, whatever it is you want your life to look like, whatever it is you need . . . you just have to ask for it. The way my life is unfolding here on the East Coast is officially exceeding my expectations.
During my trip to NJ, I had the opportunity to meet with a new couple. I’ve actually heard a great deal about these two as the bride’s Mom and my Mom have spent {what feels like} hundreds of years working together at M&M Mars. During our first conversation regarding working together, the brides Mom actually said that I’m their dream photographer . . . this is something you hope for yet not something you hear everyday. I’m honored to be that person to this couple and family and I’m looking forward to their August wedding. We’re going to have a blast!!
Meet Katie and Mike. They were born and raised in New Jersey, met in New Jersey and will be married in NJ. New Jersey, I learned during this trip that NJ has more loyal residence than any other state I’ve visited. I’ve found this to be very interesting to explore and my conclusion is that family, almost in a more traditional all American sense, runs perhaps deeper there. They chose the town of Ridgewood, New Jersey for their engagement session which is a quaint, small town with a cool park in the center. Ridgewood is in the northern part of the state which is outside of the cities and a really lush, pretty part of the state. I had a chance to explore the town before the session and even had a chance to meet up and have lunch with one of my best friends from high school. This trip was a testament to the belief . . . your life can be exactly what you want. So fulfilling!!
We met at a coffee shop and took a moment to get to know one another, had a little latte, some lemonade goodness and they viewed my sample albums for the first time. I think engagement sessions are wonderful, simply because it allows the couple to take an evening out of their busy schedules, to stop and enjoy each other before their big event. I love watching couples interact when talking about their plans. There’s a sense of sizzling energy around them. We cruised around the town until the sun left us. They were very brave and dealt with a really soggy evening of photographs. It rained the entire time and while I walked around under a black garbage bag these two laughed their way through town.
Thank you Katie and Mike for spending an evening with me!!
