Monhegan Island is one of my favorite places in the world. You’ll know this if you are a reader. If you aren’t, I invite you to visit the posts where I feature other events and exploration of the island to learn more about this amazing place.
For Patti and Mark’s event, I took a boat out of Port Clyde on a Friday and headed straight to their lobster bake. Their outdoor lobster bake and reception took place at the Monhegan House. Hurricane Irene was on her way up the coast and was scheduled to hit on Sunday. A few guests decided not to make the trip out to Monhegan so the intimate size of the party became even more so. This was my second time being out on Monhegan for a hurricane. I felt confident and had faith that everything would turn out beautiful. It did.
