This wedding defines what it means to be elegant…
Meg and Nick got ready for their big day at the Westin Portland Harborview Hotel, a historic building that has been around for almost ninety years! The old Eastland Park hotel was built as the largest hotel in New England, and gained notoriety by refusing entry to Eleanor Roosevelt and her dog. Needless to say, it was an awesome venue to shoot at, and an even better one to host a wedding.
Both the bride and groom kept it classy and vintage with their attire. The bride’s accessories were elegantly embellished, while the groom went for a simple bow tie with his tux. Their parents were also dressed to the nines. I particularly loved the bride’s mother’s dress. It was second only to the bridal gown!
Meg and Nick had a traditional ceremony at St. Bartholomew Church in Cape Elizabeth, ME. The bridesmaids had beautiful black dresses, and the groomsmen wore matching bow ties.
After the ceremony, the wedding party posed for pictures in the Old Port. Meg absolutely loved the cobblestone and red brick, and I thought it was the perfect backdrop for their pictures. One extra special moment was when the couple made a love lock and threw the key into Casco Bay. So romantic!
The reception was a blast. With the champagne, chandeliers, and decor, it was nothing short of elegant. Their pop up photo booth and costumes that they had for their guests were hilarious. It was clear that everyone was having a great time.
