I met Nicole and Rob in February of this year on the morning after the last big winter storm in Portland. I had just moved into my place the day before and spent my first night in Portland. That night, 2 feet of snow fell and when I woke up in the morning and took a look at my car . . . I laughed out loud in my new snow covered neighborhood. My car was buried under at least 5 feet of snow and all on one side.
So, I attempted to just move my car without shoveling but that was a no go. I borrowed a shovel and dug myself out. I laughed, cried a little and was on my way to drive in the snow for the very first time in 8 years. I was brave and made it and even thanked Nicole and Rob for being the one’s that helped me face my fear of driving in winter conditions. We laugh about it now and Rob makes fun of me but it was a really big deal for me. Lessons learned and will never be forgotten.
I immediately liked Nicole and Rob and was so excited to hear that although I’m a total dork who was afraid to drive in the snow . . . they wanted me to be their photographer. Thank goodness because they have made my transition to Maine a great one.
They were married on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at The Eastland Park Hotel here in Portland. This was my first official Portland wedding. I was so excited to sleep in my own bed the night before a wedding and only had to drive a few minutes to the event.

Here are a few of my favorites from their day.
LOTS of emotion at this wedding!!
I LOVE this chapel! It’s very fairytale like. It’s nestled in a beautiful old cemetery.

Nicole and Rob also met me one evening at the studio for an encore session. We walked around the block and took advantage of the nooks and crannies of this awesome neighborhood.

These two are taken right in front of the studio. There is a great little deli next to our building called The West End Deli.
This angel you can see the studio in top right corner. 😉
I have shared many laughs with Nicole and Rob and hope to continue them. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Prokey! You have made this first year in Maine awesome!
xoxo!
