The adventure of being a wedding photographer allows us to dive into people’s lives, get to know them, their chemistry and witness an extraordinary time in their life. In between, the engagement session and the wedding day there are countless things that happen such as many emails and phone chats. Then when the wedding is over, there is the bittersweet moment of finishing their wedding album and shipping it off to be forever enjoyed.
Sarah and Mike were married in San Diego, California on August 16, 2008 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. I fell in love with Sarah during our first meeting and actually more like in the first 5 minutes of meeting her. Mike didn’t attend the meeting yet she hired me on the spot and went home to tell Mike that . . . she found their wedding photographer. I photographed their engagement session at one of my favorite places to go in San Diego, Torrey Pines State Reserve. The first picture that is feautured on their engagement session blog post was the first picture I took of them. They nailed it right away and that’s actually the picture they chose for their save the dates.
Now, it’s been over a year since their wedding and I’m not sure if we did it on purpose so that the emails and phone chats would continue and we could have a simple excuse to call and talk to each other yet their wedding album went out in the mail last week and Sarah just emailed and said . . .
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike and I were speechless last night which is a huge accomplish because you know I have words for everything. Melissa, the album is absolutely gorgeous. I sincerely have no words to express the feeling of going through it last night with Mike. I feel truly blessed that we have something so amazing to look at for the rest of our lives. It really captured the day and feeling. Thirty years from now I will be able to open it up and live it all over again…..You are truly a master at your craft.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!!
XOXO
Sarah
So, although the wedding is over, the book has been made, I look forward to the next time I get to see these two and hope to never loose touch.
{They chose a 10×13 wedding album with black fabric.}
